Settings

Settings tags control how individual clips behave in playlists and during playback. Use these tags to flag media with specific properties—such as beat grid enabled content, branding content, crossfading behavior or file status. These tags are helpful when refining performance workflows and prevent unwanted visuals from being triggered live.
Stock Footage Tag

Marks a clip as stock footage, ensuring its start time defaults to 00:00:00 in the base layer—even when in BPM mode. This prevents a harsh jump at the loop point right at the beginning of playback.
When this tag is not applied to a file, the start time is offset to compensate for beat tracking.
Logos & Branding Tag

Tag reserved for media that includes brand logos, overlays, or promotional visuals for quick recall during a performance. This should not be confused with the folder chosen in Preferences / Logos & Branding that is used with the logo layer. This tag is a SECOND way to tag your logo animation files for quick recall from the main UI view.
Favorites Tag

Tags reserved for media items marked as favorites for quick access and filtering. This tag can also be applied without entering edit mode by using the Quick Tags area in the base layer - useful for tagging on the fly.
Staff Picks Tag

Highlights media featured by the Beatflo team.
Beatgrid Tag

Indicates that a video includes beatgrid data, enabling synchronized playback and beat-matching in BPM mode. All 900 files in the Beat Sync library include the Beatgrid tag. Over 2000 files in the X8 Visuals Complete library contain this beatgrid tag. We recommend adding this tag to any other non-Beatflo footage that has a pulse that is intended to follow a beat.
Do Not Timestretch Tag

Prevents the clip from stretching to match tempo even when the master or layer time stretching is enabled. This will maintain its original playback speed regardless of BPM helpful for certain footage that would not look good sped up or slowed down.
Crossfade Tag

Forces a smooth crossfade between the end and beginning of the clip when looping—especially useful for stock footage to conceal loop points that would otherwise cause a jump when the video loops from the end back to the start point.
Do Not Play Tag

This is the tag added to a file when using the Do Not Play quick tag in the Base Layer. When applied, it effectively hides the clip from filtered results normally appearing in the playlist - without deleting it from your hard drive.
Corrupt File Tag

Automatically assigned to problematic or unreadable clips to prevent playback errors or crashes during live use. Use this to view any media NUCLYR found as corrupt while performing a scan. Files with this tag applied may be shown in orange in the playlist or video grids and will be skipped when using the playlist or autopilot mode to prevent jumbled output.
Editing Settings Tags
By default, clicking on these tags will filter your playlist based on the setting selection you have made. If none of these tags have been previously added to your files, the playlist will always be empty since nothing matches your criteria.
To add Settings tags to your media, follow these steps after creating a playlist using media panel selections:
Start playback and enable the loop video mode. This will ensure the tags you are applying will be for the currently playing visual.
Enter tag edit mode.
Make changes to Rating, Energy, Settings, BPM, Total Beats and any other custom tag panels you have created in Preferences/Tags.
Use the FFW Arrow to skip to the next video and repeat the process until you are done adding tags to the files in your playlist.
